Thursday was Austin's 50th 100-degree day of the year so far -- the 8th-highest 100-degree day count on record.New drought data released Thursday morning showed worsening drought across much of the area. A man suspected of indecent exposure and other sex crimes on trails in Jefferson County foothill parks told investigators that he felt “compelled” to commit the crimes, according to an arrest affidavit.Glenn Thompson Braden, 20, of Evergreen, faces multiple charges including five counts of indecent exposure and three counts of unlawful sexual contact, all first-degree misdemeanors, according to the affidavit.Braden, was arrested Tuesday night by sheriff’s deputies following incidents near the Beaver Brook Trail at Stapleton Park where he is suspected of exposing himself and chasing women who were hiking alone. First responders and members of the community paid their final respects on Thursday to CAL FIRE Assistant Chief Josh Bischof and Fire Captain Tim Rodriguez, two of three people who died when two helicopters collided while battling a brush fire in Riverside County.Mourners gathered at the Riverside County Coroner's Office in Perris and lined the procession route to Evans Brown Mortuary in Menifee where Bischof and Rodriguez were laid to rest."Our hearts go out to the families of our fallen heroes," CAL FIRE shared on social media. Vehicle Collision near Yerba Buena Road Left One DeadSAN JOSE, CA (August 10, 2023) – Late Friday night, one person was pronounced dead following a crash on Route 101.According to the San Jose officials, a white Hyundai Genesis was stopped at the left side near Yerba Buena Road at around 11:30 p.m., August 4th.Consequently, the officials arrived at the scene and they found one person dead in the area. The identity of the deceased was not yet released at this time.Officials have also not released any information about a possible suspect vehicle at this time. Additional details will be updated as it becomes available to the public.Furthermore, the CHP blocked the southbound lanes of U.S. 101 to Yerba Buena Road off-ramp, and the estimated time to reopen was not stated.At this time, it was unknown how the person died. By Samantha Beech | CNNA 17-year-old has been indicted on a charge of second-degree murder as a hate crime over the killing of O’Shae Sibley, a 28-year-old professional dancer who was stabbed to death at a Brooklyn gas station after dancing to a Beyoncé song.Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez did not name the 17-year-old who was indicted Thursday due to the teen’s age, he told reporters outside Brooklyn Supreme Court. OAKLAND — Police here have identified a 46-year-old man who was shot and killed outside of a local gas station, in front of his wife.Andre Stevenson, of Oakland, was shot and killed by an unknown assailant at around 8:15 p.m. July 27, on the 9800 block of Edes Avenue, near a 76 Gas station.Police have not announced any arrests, nor publicly revealed a suspected motive. They say, though, that Stevenson appeared to be targeted.Stevenson had just purchased something at the convenience store and was walking back to his Chrysler 300 when at least one person pulled alongside him in another car and opened fire, authorities said.
