IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — New Iowa quarterback Cade McNamara wants complete command of the offense, right down to how the Hawkeyes break a huddle.“I definitely want to start every play with a good break,” he said. “If we’re not in sync, it looks a little sloppy. If we have a clean break, it just gets the play started off right.”McNamara has yet to take a snap for the No. 25 Hawkeyes in a game, but the Michigan transfer is the key to reviving one of the nation’s worst offenses. Iowa won eight games despite being 129th in total offense, 123rd in rushing and 122nd in passing and scoring.McNamara takes over for three-year starter Spencer Petras, who completed just 55.9% of his passes last season with five touchdowns and five interceptions.“I’ve been here seven months now, and it’s been the best seven months of my life,” said McNamara, Michigan’s starter in 2021. “I’m enjoying my time here, building my relationships with these dudes. Everyone here has been so welcoming to me. Now that I’ve ...US Steel, Monday.com rise; Nikola, Paramount Global fall, Monday, 8/14/2023

DENVER (KDVR) — Because Denver's landlocked, it's not commonly considered a seafood hub, but that doesn't line up with the numerous seafood restaurants in Denver. While Denver doesn't have Boston-level fresh seafood, it's only a few hours off from being one of the freshest catches. Sean Huggard, owner of Blue Island Oyster Bar, grew up with seafood in Boston, which is where he still gets some of it for his restaurant. The fish caught today in Boston will be on the table in Denver tomorrow. Don’t eat the fish in these Colorado water bodies Turns out, you're getting some of the freshest fish thanks to the Denver International Airport, according to Huggard. Most fish catch a flight to Denver and get here much quicker than any other landlocked state because DIA is one of the busiest airports in the world. "People always are asking me, 'How do you get fresh fish in Denver?' I'm like, how do you get toilet paper from Amazon in like a day or less?" said Huggard. By Anna Helhoski | NerdWalletNearly 68 million people in the U.S. were facing extreme weather alerts as of Aug. 7 — that’s about one-fifth of the U.S. population. Due to climate change, more people experience hazardous weather conditions like extreme heat, wildfires, storms and floods, and they experience them more often. Some places are more vulnerable to climate change’s impact than others, but that doesn’t stop people from moving to those spots.A new analysis by NerdWallet finds that the majority of the fastest-growing places in the U.S. are also high-risk areas for natural hazards.“Extreme heat and humidity is going to be a reality pretty much no matter where you move,” says Alex De Sherbinin, senior research scientist, deputy director and adjunct professor of climate at the Columbia Climate School at Columbia University in New York. “But life-threatening damages from those kinds of things are going to be more restricted to some locales than others.”You’re more likely to experie...Latest news
