CHICAGO — The news of the day for the White Sox on Friday concerned their bullpen, as one former closer returns to the organization while a longtime relief pitcher leaves. Per the White Sox transaction page, the team has brought Alex Colome back to the organization, doing so on Thursday before assigning him to their Arizona Complex League team on Friday.Colome was the primary closer for the White Sox in 2019 and 2020, netting 42 saves in 46 attempts with a combined 2.27 ERA over those seasons. When the team signed Liam Hendriks in December 2020, the closer joined the Twins, where he had 17 saves in 24 attempts and a 4.15 ERA in 67 appearances. In 2022, Colome pitched for the Rockies where he struggled as his ERA slipped farther to 5.74 with four saves in seven attempts. At the moment, the White Sox don't have a set closer as Hendriks has battled non-Hodgkin's lymphoma this offseason. He was placed on the 15-day injured list at the beginning of the regular season. (SmartAsset) - Seen as a sign of success and financial comfort, a six-figure salary has long been an important milestone for American workers. But the times have changed and $100,000 isn't quite what it used to be, especially as rampant inflation continues to sap the purchasing power of money and push the cost of living higher. In fact, 51% of people who earn more than $100,000 reported living paycheck to paycheck in December 2022 – 9 percentage points higher than a year earlier – according to a recent survey from PYMNTS and LendingClub. To see how much $100,000 is actually worth in different parts of the country, SmartAsset compared the after-tax income in 76 of the largest U.S. cities and then adjusted those figures for the cost of living in each place. Perry's defense has maintained the fatal shooting of Garrett Foster was in self-defense. The state argues Perry instigated the crowd, driving into the crowd and causing protesters to respond by hitting and kicking his car and also screaming at him.No matter what the jury decides: a fiancé, caretaker, son and friend lost his life in the incident.“He took care of all my needs," Foster's fiancée, Whitney Mitchell, testified the first week of Perry's trial.
