WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Poland began to enforce a European Union ban Sunday on all Russian-registered passenger cars seeking to enter the country — the latest in a series of sanctions on Russia in punishment for its war against Ukraine.Under the EU’s decision, motor vehicles registered in the Russian Federation are no longer allowed to enter the territory of the 27-member bloc. “A car registered in Russia has no right to enter Poland,” Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski said Saturday, announcing the ban that took effect hours later at midnight.“This is another element of the sanctions imposed on Russia and its citizens in connection with the brutal war in Ukraine, due to the fact that the Russian state today constitutes a threat to international security,” Kaminski said. The move comes just days after the nearby Baltic states of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia banned vehicles with Russian license plates from entering their territory — a joint move in line with a recent interpretat...Now a post-tropical storm, Lee expected to move into Gulf of St. Lawrence today

BOULDER — For Colorado State, this year’s instant-classic Rocky Mountain Showdown will be remembered as the one that got away. The Rams blew an 11-point fourth quarter lead at Folsom Field, watching a would-be historic upset over the 23.5-point favorite Buffs evaporate into the wee hours of the night.“Brutal,” CSU quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi aptly summarized, no doubt speaking for all of Fort Collins.CSU had a 99.4% win probability when CU got the ball back with 2:06 left, down eight points and needing to drive 98 yards for the tying touchdown plus two-point conversion. But that’s exactly what CU did, before going on to win 43-35 in double overtime. After the Rams scored a TD at the end of the first OT, they had a chance to go for the game-winning two-point conversion. But Jay Norvell elected to kick the extra point instead. It was the last time CSU would score in the game.“We talked about (going for it), and I didn’t feel it was right...Daily horoscope for September 17, 2023

Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter was taken to a local hospital during the 2023 Rocky Mountain Showdown after being on the receiving end of a late hit Saturday night, CU football announced.Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders wasn’t sure of the specifics of the injury after the game, a 43-35 double-overtime win for CU, but “first thing I heard was that he would be out for a few weeks,” he said. The coach added he suspects Hunter will only want to be out for two weeks.“But his health is more important than his game,” Sanders said. With five minutes remaining in the first quarter, the CU receiver and defensive back was involved in a controversial play that left him shaken on the sideline. As Hunter was running a route downfield, Colorado State senior defensive back Henry Blackburn wandered over in help coverage and leveled Hunter after the ball had already fallen incomplete.
